The Weber Q is an electric barbecue, available in 5 bright summer colors. Weber asked vandenbusken to create a simple online campaign right before the summer started. The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness for the Weber Q among man and women between 25 and 40 years old.
As requested by Weber, we wanted to keep this campaign it as simple as possible. And so was our strategy. Why not start with the easiest question to start the conversation? “What’s your favorite color?” By asking this simple question and by carefully applying usability best practices, we tried to get conversion in two very simple steps.
The campaign was very successful, considering it’s such a simple online display campaign with total cost of the creation below €1.500.
The banner had a reach of 1.917.703 impressions, leading to 5.775 clicks, bringing the CTR to 0,30%. (average CTR on online display campaign between 0,15-0,20%). Weber received a total of 427 contestants (and email addresses!), a conversion rate of 4,7% on site. Next to this, Weber also found out which color is most successful.
